FAQ

What can my family expect from a visit to the Pensacola MESS Hall?

Adults and children of all ages who come in with their thinking and imagination caps on can expect to conduct their very own experiments with our many interactive, hands-on activities. At the MESS Hall, you are the scientists.

Do you provide guided tours or experiences of the museum?

The nature of the Pensacola MESS Hall is very self-guided to help you access your creative problem solving skills, but a museum staff member or volunteer is always on hand to answer any questions you may have during your visit.

What is the target audience or age range for the MESS Hall?

The Pensacola MESS Hall is appropriate for learners of a broad age range. Learners at different ages make their own discoveries based on their prior educational experiences. Many of our exhibits do require fine motor skills which may require some extra facilitation for learners under 5. Learners under 3 receive free admission because the activities are not design specifically for their learning needs.

Do I have to pay for the adults in my party?

Yes. The MESS Hall is an experience for all ages. Adult learners regularly discover new science that they never learned in school. And the puzzle table is always popular with older learners.

What is a MESS Kit?

Mess Kits are additional activities or experiments that children or adults can do on a visit to the museum. There are around 10-12 on our menu at any given time, and they are included in the cost of admission.

What special programs are you holding on a day-to-day basis?

Generally, we have our normal exhibits and a MESS kit menu with 10-12 different activities that children can interact with. During the school year we hold monthly Curiosity Days and special presentations during the summers. Please feel free to give us a call or check our Facebook for any upcoming events or special themes.
