Beginners and Advanced Makers welcome.
This is the second semester of a 2-semester course, but beginners (over the age of 10) are welcome. Beginners will build at least one working robot using their soldering skills that we will teach in class. All students will learn how logic circuits and computer code make decisions based on input (the fundamentals of an AI).
Second semester students will work on a new solder-from-scratch robot (TBD– we will announce over the winter break). All students will have some access (depending on scheduling of other classes) to our Mindstorms resources. Students may work with Raspberry Pi (ours or yours), Mindstorms, Java, Python and/or Scratch for programming projects. Students may propose their own projects or work through a curriculum developed by the Pensacola MESS Hall.
This is a drop-off class, and parents and siblings will not be able to stay in the exhibit area during this time. If your student is attending the morning session (Hands On Science for Home-school), they will be supervised and can bring a brown-bag lunch for the 1-hour break between classes.
