The MESS Hall offers monthly field trips for homeschool students. The activities are best for ages 6+, and each month is a different theme.

Homeschool Families Extended Hours:

Join your co-op and other homeschool families for open exploration of the MESS Hall during extended hours; Begins at 10:00AM. Also, learn more about our homeschool programs, group options, and pencil in engaging science fun this coming year! Included with admission.

Homeschool Field Trips

Pre-Register online

Dates for 2019-2020 below. These programs begin with an interactive science-show, followed by hands-on stations exploring monthly topics.  There is no charge for chaperones; Groups should plan for at least one chaperone per 5 students.

Chemistry is all around us—it’s in the air we breathe, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the medicines we take, and much more. Investigate the world of chemistry to celebrate National Chemistry Week.

Planet Earth
Investigate this rock we call home. Explore how it has changed and is changing, what it is made of, and how we know.

Harness the power to investigate electricity. Create it, use it, and even observe it in your own body.

What about water? Investigate the properties of this simple chemical that makes life possible.

Note that field trips are not included with member benefits. All students are $8 each. Pre-registration required.

Homeschool Group Workshops

Looking to bring your homeschool group for a general visit? Weekday mornings are reserved for field trips, however availability is limited due to demand and each trip requires a minimum of 30 students. To accommodate, we offer group rates for most weekday visits between 1 PM – 5 PM. Check out our groups page for more information.
