Extended hours

During January, come explore the MESS Hall during extended holiday hours from December 31 to January 6, Tuesday-Saturday, 10AM – 5 PM.

School Year Hours of Operation begin January 9th, open Tuesday – Friday, 1PM – 5PM, and Saturdays 10AM-5PM.

Curiosity Day

Your Body –  Saturday, January 20

Once a month, the MESS Hall provides your whole family with a special opportunity to dive a little deeper into a science topic.  On January 20th, join us for Curiosity Day – Your Body. Extra hands-on activities exploring physiology, health, and the way your mind works are included with admission.


Tinker Tots

TinkerTotsForce

Young learners and their caregivers will have the opportunity to explore new topics each month in an age-appropriate activity. Each session will begin with a story, and participants will then explore the topic with hands on materials. Participation in Saturday Tinker Tots includes admission to the museum, though caregivers and other family members will need to pay if the family chooses to explore the museum after the program.
Ages 3-K. 9 AM – 9:45 AM. $5.60/$7 member/nonmember. Preregistration is required.

Homeschool Workshops

The MESS Hall offers monthly workshops for home school students. The classes are divided by age group, and each month is a different theme.
$8/$10 member/nonmember.

Curiosity Club

Are you a highschooler that is curious about the world around you? Do you love sharing Science?
Join the Pensacola MESS Hall Curiosity Club!

Who should apply?

Escambia and Santa Rosa high school students, graduating by 2019 to 2021, with a curiosity about the world through math, engineering, and science.

Your committment

Ten hours of volunteering at MESS Hall programs and events, and attendance at 3 of 4 Saturday Workshops offered January through April 2018 (see below). Worth 22+ service hours upon completion.

How you’ll benefit

Not only will teens who volunteer with us improve their communication and interpersonal skills, they’ll get familiar, hands-on experience in a wide range of math, engineering, and science topic. We are also providing workshops for volunteers to attend to enrich their experience as a volunteer and science communicator. Each workshop begins with  learning and skills development, topical discussion with a professional in the field, lunch, and time for applied play/development.

Workshop Schedule | 10AM-2PM

Jan 27: Communications and Interpersonal Skills. Speaker subject: Medicine
Feb 10: Interaction of people with a space/location. Speaker subject: Architecture
March 3Minute science, communicating concepts in a short amount of time. Speaker subject: Journalism.
April 7: Branding yourself, Social Media v Resume. Speaker subject: Robotics
